Evie's European Vacation

We had the best time in Europe with my family these last couple of weeks (thanks so much, Mom and Dad!!). We went over for a Mediterranean cruise, but since it began in Barcelona, we went a few days early to experience that city. Evie was a traveling champ, doing great not only on the very long flights there and back, but being out and about all day long. She adjusted to weird milk in different countries without a problem, and she absolutely loved the food! She did great with the time change--her only problem was that the first two nights we were there, she wanted to play for about three hours in the middle of the night. But, she had so much fun and was generally happy the whole time. I'm worried she's going to be so bored at home now!

Warning: lots of photos!

All over the place...

I haven't blogged in so long because 1) I dislike it (see previous post) and 2) (the real reason) I have had NOT ONE MINUTE to do it because The Little One has gone mobile...and she's not stopping. She's constantly on the move. She was really into crawling for like, a day, and for the past few weeks has been pulling herself up on EVERYTHING...including walls and people's legs, which is excellent. Currently, her favorite thing is to pull herself up on the couch and then walk along it. So, a feather bed and a couple metal superyards later, our living room has turned into Evie's padded jail cell. (This post is actually coming to you from this very cell.)

She also was threatening some stranger danger for a couple days but now wants to go visit everyone. All the time. Every minute. She's very social and is always chatting. My parents are adding onto their house and Evie wasn't happy until she could have the contractor hold her so she could check out his beard. Lovely. But, she's such a sweetheart and I can't believe we've only had her with us for eight months! It feels like we've had her forever.

Coming to visit Mom in the front seat of the car. She hates, hates, HATES being strapped into her carseat. I should probably mention here that the car was parked when this picture was taken. Lately, it has gotten a lot harder for me to simultaneously drive and turn around to take pics of Evie cavorting around the backseat unattended. Ha ha.

Just relaxing in her stroller at the Zoo.

She has finally really gotten into eating. She literally cried the other day when I ate the last bite of a peanut butter bagel...which she hadn't had a bite of, but was just enjoying its scent and look. She goes crazy for the smell of peanut butter and always tries to eat it out of my mouth.

Evie applauds herself all the time. She really likes it if everyone says "Yay Evie!" when she claps. Nope, NOT SPOILED AT ALL.

I Hate Blogging

That's right, I said it. I dislike blogging. I only blog about Evie, and it really feels like overkill, since I keep a private journal/scrapbook for her. But, she's very cute, so I'll post some pictures here anyway.

Cereal

Evie has had a very busy month!  She took her first plane ride to San Diego (and did very well), went to Sea World, stayed in her first hotel, took stroller rides along the shore, and had lots of fun.  She has also been to many BBQs and spent lots of time with family.  She's an assistant wedding planner for her aunt Meg, too, so she's been busy with showers and errands and loving it.  She is very helpful.

Evie also went to the doctor at the beginning of July for her four month check up.  She weighed 13 lbs. 1 oz., and is in the 30th percentile for weight.  She's in the 90th percentile for height, at 26 inches.  She handled her shots like a champ.

The most important thing Evie's done in the past couple of weeks, though, is start eating cereal.  She actually likes it, even though these pictures suggest otherwise.

She may be more interested in her feet!

Rolling over!

Evie is so active!  She has been rolling from her tummy to her back since she was five or six weeks old, but last week, she started to roll all the way over.  I can't leave her anywhere now.  She even rolls during her diaper changes.  It's automatic...the second I set her down anywhere she flips over.

This is Evie running.  If she doesn't roll over, she kicks her legs really fast and moves her arms everywhere.  Rarely does she lie still.  Very rarely.  I am in trouble when she starts crawling and walking.

This is Evie being a good sport in her carseat while we were running errands.  She doesn't love to ride around in the car like she used to; in fact, she tries to get out of her carseat all the time.  But, she'll tag along for a few minutes every day.

3 Months!

Evie will be three months old tomorrow...where does the time go?!  We are having a birthday party for her tomorrow night, but until then, here's a cute pic of the little one.  She's the sweetest!

Sick!

Evie has been sick with the stomach flu for about a week now. I have felt awful for her...and it's been a long week! Hopefully, though, she's on the mend. The one bright spot for her has been the grape Pedialyte...a very nice and tasty change from formula!

She still finds time to make cute faces from her carseat.

Funny little babe!
