All over the place...

I haven't blogged in so long because 1) I dislike it (see previous post) and 2) (the real reason) I have had NOT ONE MINUTE to do it because The Little One has gone mobile...and she's not stopping. She's constantly on the move. She was really into crawling for like, a day, and for the past few weeks has been pulling herself up on EVERYTHING...including walls and people's legs, which is excellent. Currently, her favorite thing is to pull herself up on the couch and then walk along it. So, a feather bed and a couple metal superyards later, our living room has turned into Evie's padded jail cell. (This post is actually coming to you from this very cell.)

She also was threatening some stranger danger for a couple days but now wants to go visit everyone. All the time. Every minute. She's very social and is always chatting. My parents are adding onto their house and Evie wasn't happy until she could have the contractor hold her so she could check out his beard. Lovely. But, she's such a sweetheart and I can't believe we've only had her with us for eight months! It feels like we've had her forever.

Coming to visit Mom in the front seat of the car. She hates, hates, HATES being strapped into her carseat. I should probably mention here that the car was parked when this picture was taken. Lately, it has gotten a lot harder for me to simultaneously drive and turn around to take pics of Evie cavorting around the backseat unattended. Ha ha.

Just relaxing in her stroller at the Zoo.

She has finally really gotten into eating. She literally cried the other day when I ate the last bite of a peanut butter bagel...which she hadn't had a bite of, but was just enjoying its scent and look. She goes crazy for the smell of peanut butter and always tries to eat it out of my mouth.

Evie applauds herself all the time. She really likes it if everyone says "Yay Evie!" when she claps. Nope, NOT SPOILED AT ALL.

I Hate Blogging

That's right, I said it. I dislike blogging. I only blog about Evie, and it really feels like overkill, since I keep a private journal/scrapbook for her. But, she's very cute, so I'll post some pictures here anyway.

Cereal

Evie has had a very busy month!  She took her first plane ride to San Diego (and did very well), went to Sea World, stayed in her first hotel, took stroller rides along the shore, and had lots of fun.  She has also been to many BBQs and spent lots of time with family.  She's an assistant wedding planner for her aunt Meg, too, so she's been busy with showers and errands and loving it.  She is very helpful.

Evie also went to the doctor at the beginning of July for her four month check up.  She weighed 13 lbs. 1 oz., and is in the 30th percentile for weight.  She's in the 90th percentile for height, at 26 inches.  She handled her shots like a champ.

The most important thing Evie's done in the past couple of weeks, though, is start eating cereal.  She actually likes it, even though these pictures suggest otherwise.

She may be more interested in her feet!

Rolling over!

Evie is so active!  She has been rolling from her tummy to her back since she was five or six weeks old, but last week, she started to roll all the way over.  I can't leave her anywhere now.  She even rolls during her diaper changes.  It's automatic...the second I set her down anywhere she flips over.

This is Evie running.  If she doesn't roll over, she kicks her legs really fast and moves her arms everywhere.  Rarely does she lie still.  Very rarely.  I am in trouble when she starts crawling and walking.

This is Evie being a good sport in her carseat while we were running errands.  She doesn't love to ride around in the car like she used to; in fact, she tries to get out of her carseat all the time.  But, she'll tag along for a few minutes every day.

3 Months!

Evie will be three months old tomorrow...where does the time go?!  We are having a birthday party for her tomorrow night, but until then, here's a cute pic of the little one.  She's the sweetest!

Sick!

Evie has been sick with the stomach flu for about a week now. I have felt awful for her...and it's been a long week! Hopefully, though, she's on the mend. The one bright spot for her has been the grape Pedialyte...a very nice and tasty change from formula!

She still finds time to make cute faces from her carseat.

Funny little babe!

It's been a month!

An update for my loyal reader. *Gems*
Evie has had a very busy month! She has done some excellent growing and is now about 10 lbs. At the beginning of May, she was brave enough to go and get her two-month-old shots. Sadly, her mom was not, and sent her dad and grandma instead. Yes, I'm a coward.

Also, on May 17th, Evie was blessed at her grandparents' house. Her grandma found her a beautiful gown in Nashville and she looked gorgeous. Bryan gave her a lovely blessing...he did such a nice job!
Evie, though, was woken from her nap early and knew something different was going on. She reacted accordingly:

Fortunately, though, her grandpa took her for a walk by the creek and jogged her around the backyard so that by the time her big moment arrived, she looked like this:

She recovered just in time and behaved very well for the rest of her event. We are so grateful for all the family and friends who were part of our very special day. Thank you all! We are very blessed to have so much family so close.

Also noteworthy, Evie's becoming a very good sleeper.  She hasn't woken up for a middle-of-the-night feeding in over a week now, which has been SO NICE!  And, because of the good weather, she's getting out more and more and starting to discover lots of new things. Her favorites, though, continue to be ceiling fans, any and all lights and windows, and her hands. Oh, and I like to think she likes her mom, too. :-)

Tulips

Today we went to see the tulips at Thanksgiving Point with Grandma Osa.  Evie clearly enjoyed them very much:

The flowers were beautiful!  We had a very fun day.

Also, last night Evie rolled over all by herself, which is a testament to how much she hates to be on her tummy.  She is growing up so fast!

Evie's First Easter

The Easter Bunny brought Evie a cute little basket with lots of fun things in it...
Thanks Easter Bunny!

Birthday girl

Evie spent her birthday just like any girl should...shopping and lunching.  Then she spent a few minutes getting her picture taken.  Here she is...one month old!

One month birthday

Little Evie will be one month old tomorrow, and the time has flown by!  She is a much different baby now than she was when she was born.  Her little personality is showing through more and more each day.  She's a feisty little one, but she's generally pretty content.  She loves to be held and is totally spoiled in that regard.  She also loves to look at lights or be by a window--she's very curious.

I have loved being home with her each day, because she changes so much.  She has lots of different facial expressions and is working on smiling.

Lots of hair!

She is a very hungry girl.

Three Weeks Old!

Evie is now three weeks old and growing fast!  She spends most of her time eating, and a fair amount sleeping.  She's a spoiled girl, though, because she is always being held, and does not like to be set down at all.  Evie loves to look out windows and she loves lights of any kind.  She also rolls from side to side now, but generally dislikes being on her tummy.  She's so much fun!

Two and a half weeks

Evie is starting to be able to focus on things.  She's also a smiler!  We love getting to know her sweet personality more and more each day.  Here are the shots Meg took today.
